Mrvan Votes to Punish Hoosiers This Winter with Higher Heating Bills

Crown Point, IN – The Committee to Elect Jennifer-Ruth Green released the following statement responding to Congressman Frank Mrvan’s vote against lower natural gas prices as winter approaches:

“Whether it’s soaring food prices, record-high gas prices, or jacking electricity and heating bills through the roof, Congressman Frank Mrvan has dutifully supported the Biden-Pelosi agenda 100% of the time at the expense of working-class Hoosiers,” said Kevin Hansberger, Green’s Communications Director. “Yesterday, Mrvan had a chance to undo new natural gas taxes he voted for with the fraudulently named Inflation Reduction Act. Instead, Mrvan doubled down on his attacks on working-class Hoosiers and seniors living on a fixed income.”

“Working families simply can’t afford the Pelosi-Mrvan agenda,” Jennifer-Ruth Green said. “In Congress, I will undo Mrvan’s reckless spending that has led to 40-year high inflation, and end the war on American energy so we can fill our cars, heat our homes and lead a good quality life without breaking the bank.”

Mrvan voted to block consideration of legislation to repeal a new, $6.5 billion natural gas tax that will stick American families with even higher electricity bills.
