Jennifer-Ruth Green for Congress
The Jennifer-Ruth Green Internship Program offers fall semester internships at their Campaign Headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge of federal political campaigns through active participation in the grassroots organizational process.

Working closely with top-tier, experienced campaign staff, interns develop professional skills while strengthening their political knowledge. The experiences gained while interning with the Jennifer-Ruth Green Campaign will benefit students’ academic growth. During the campaign cycle, Jennifer-Ruth Green Campaign interns are a part of a top-notch, highly motivated political team that aggressively engages voters in Indiana’s First Congressional District which comprises over 700,000 Hoosiers.

The Jennifer-Ruth Green Campaign offers internship opportunities in a variety of departments:

• Political Activist
– Work directly with the Jennifer-Ruth Green Political Director.
– Communicate directly with voters via mail, phone, email, and at the doors
– Help with the recruitment of motivated volunteers
– Help with data management
– Help organize field events

• Communications/Media Relations
– Work directly with the Jennifer-Ruth Green Communications Director/Press Secretary.
– Write press releases, guest columns, and e-newsletters.
– Monitor news coverage and track social media.
– Help set up press conferences and media availability.
– Take photos during events and coordinate media interviews.
– Opportunities available to focus on social media, graphic design, web development, and audio/video production.


Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors; recent college graduates; graduate and law school students are eligible to apply for internships. All majors are welcome to apply – no previous political or government experience is required. Top applicants will demonstrate strong writing and interpersonal skills, project a positive attitude and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
